ANTHROPOPHOBIES & ETHOLOMANIES / ANONYMOUS RIVALS BORDERERS

You never know where they might come from. They call your attention without a noise – they just walk deliberately, silently.

They are appreciated, some more than others, for their tenacity, patience, dexterity or cunning.

They hold themselves together. They consume abundantly. Most of them are probably not authentic.

There is reason to believe that, in their original form, they were much more individualistic.

Different. Combative. Their scream is hoarse and muffled.

Always in a state of alert. They listen attentively, and run for their shelters and look outs at the tiniest of strange sounds. They run fast, but breathlessly.

They are sociable (not always). They are closely linked to their urgent needs.

All difficulties and sacrifices are their closest companions.

They use their intuition; if their instincts don't fail them, they live well.

They are so refined that they guess any changes before they are carried out. Their defects outshine their qualities.

Everyone has its mission well defined. Some choose and lead the way, others execute.

They avoid to be victims of rashness; practice teaches them the best way to adapt.

They act promptly, so that their collaborators will not sense hesitation or ignorance, that could provoke some fall in prestige, not to mention the uneasy feeling of inferiority.

They frequently lose sight of each other.

They know how to make the best of every obstacle. Their attitude with their close ones varies a lot, and the rules are not easy to explain.

There are many exercises in virtuosity. Nervous and distrustful, with fast and abrupt reactions, they meander with great speed.

They impose respect. They multiply, even turning into a plague.

Dissimulating, not very enthusiastic.

They are ordinary, they blend. Their better days are gone.

They live in groups, more or less numerous. Without promiscuity.

Dreadful. They attack. They hesitate. They do harm. Distrustful and cautious, their origins are obscure.

They ignore obstacles. They are aware of others’ qualities and weaknesses.

They can't skip the rules and when they are looked upon by someone who knows them well, they go through difficult times.

They need to identify themselves.

Some days they look lazy, some days inaccessible.

The more disconcerting they are, the more appreciated. Feared and adorable. They are guided by sensations. Some are demanding, taking hold of every situation, some are happy to be led.

They look for subsistence to enjoy some rest.

They have a natural disorder of a defensive kind.

They make themselves unapproachable.

Some times they start their lives with so much precaution that they end up avoiding being with their fellow creatures.

They can be led to disobedience. There is always some unwilling impulse.

Active observation is indispensable in every case, to be able to weigh the details.

Some characteristics belong, essentially, to males.

Females are less colourful.

When stimulated they react in different ways and after going through a set of motions, they choose an effect that will separate them from the group. This is how the couples start to get together.

Fights between males can come to some degree of violence.

In times of pregnancy, females draw themselves back from the males.

Even polygamous sorts can resort to bitter fighting.

They live in solitary fashion when not reproducing themselves (the true loners disappear fast).

They are known to be hybrids.

Various forms of sub-species have been described, as well as albinotic ones.

Though they are known to co-exist in some regions, the truth is that their areas are mutually exclusive.

Anxious for freedom. They keep to themselves.

Once observed, they stay put, defensively, until they recover some degree of self-confidence and look for a corner to hide.

They isolate themselves in remote areas. You never know who the predators can be. Limits are all but precise.

Most fail by lack of knowledge, of help, physical exertion or nervous tension caused by being constantly on guard with everything that surrounds them, without losing sight of others reactions.

Victims are arbitrary depending on each one's criteria.

They can blend from far away, but at close range they are recognizable.

They walk with a stoop and crouch immediately when they sense danger.

If they are harassed at close range, they can literally disappear. If they run away, they do it willy-nilly and never run much, but once the escape starts, they are fast.

They harass and expel the other species from their favourite hide-outs.

They stay motionless for long periods of time.

If they are tough, they are probably elderly; if, on the contrary, they are pliable, you are dealing with adults; finally, those who break up easily are the young ones.

Some emigrate, they travel easily.

Being creatures of high standards, many avoid inhospitable places and look for better life conditions in other surroundings. They are divided in migrant and sedentary groups, which co-exist, during part of the year, in the same territory.

They nest and hibernate. Some are indigenous creatures, others are migratory. But even the sedentary ones are bound to travel. Some internal determinism of a neuro-physiological nature is bound to exist.

Many investigations show that this determinism is linked to the activity of sexual glands, which hypertrophy before the travel. It would nonetheless be wrong to assume this as an absolute truth.

To acclimatise to other regions seems to be a difficult task, only because the ecological preferences of the species are limited.

It happens in the few cases when the migratory routes are well-known.

They gather in bands, sometimes huge, formed by creatures of different species.

Most of them are resident, and it would be more common if some hide outs could be kept in use, where they could live quietly.

The gregarious choose a region to set themselves up, spread in the surrounding areas, on their favourite spots, in couples or little bands. (Migration is a highly complex phenomenon whose causes are not entirely known. In spite of the huge progress obtained in the last years, its causality remains, by and large, obscure).

Note: Although abiding by the most recent information, some data must be considered with reserve. Not all observations are concordant, and assuming differently would be a mistake. Nevertheless, it should be noted that such observations are valid. There is no rule without exception.
